PERSPECTIVES is our yearly opportunity to informally gather and evaluate how congregants view where we're at on some aspect of our church life (not the formal ACM).
This year, Perspectives will focus on the investigative work of the Strategic Task Group (STG) on the future of GPUC. You will have received a summary and the full report over the last couple of weeks. To bring the report ‘to life’ and engage with the information (and perhaps some new nuggets), we invite you to enjoy a light lunch following worship and be guided by facilitator, Marlene Smale. There are three ways this gathering will help the STG with on-going work in 2020:

  • Guidance for the Strategic Task Group for Phase II

  • Report any findings at the ACM, March 15th

  • Share any findings with the wider Saskatoon United Church atthe next cluster meeting, April 25th.

PERSPECTIVES BACKGROUND:  This is our sixth annual Perspectives gathering. The purpose of Perspectives is to help ensure we’re on track with the recommendations of our Vision Report and progressing in ways that matter to you. Are we successfully fulfilling our goals? Where do we need to focus more attention? Are there new elements that need to be introduced?

Grosvenor’s Visioning Report has been in circulation since October 2014. Many people contributed their perspectives to the dreaming-planning process, as you can read in the document. Hard copies of the Visioning Report are usually available at the back of the Sanctuary, or online. The report’s list of eight “overarching goals” has become a meaningful compass for Council, staff and volunteers. Council's response to the report's recommendations can be found here.
